Hello, the new netboot version 0.6 is out. You can find it on the netboot home page http://www.han.de/~gero/netboot, or hopefully soon on sunsite.unc.edu in /pub/Linux/system/Linux-boot/netboot-0.6.tar.gz. It fixes a whole bunch of problems with the recent netboot versions, and it is now ported to SCO ODT (and will now probably run on most other SysV as well). Also all the documentation has been brought upto date. Besides that it offers these new features: - makerom is no longer a shell script but a C program, and in addition to being used interactively it can now also access a database with bootrom configurations for different clients. - The compression algorithm is now part of makerom, so you don't need an external compressor anymore - The bootrom loader now allows selection of int18 or int19 booting, so you can now build a bootrom which does not allow the BIOS to look for bootable hard disk partitions before running the network boot. - With mknbi-dos, you can now select a different ramdisk size, when you create the ramdisk image from a Unix directory. Due to the many changes I strongly recommend to upgrade to this new version. gero. -- Emacs is not an editor.
