One possibility is, that the 3c509b card maps some constant number into part of the EPROM space; if this is indeed the case, then the EPROM needs to be patched to take this fact into account. If I find some time (unlikely), I will write a Linux program that scans for problems with ROM images. I can dual-boot one of the machines in my office, but I can only do this after hours and I usually work between 9am and 8pm...
