Anything done wrong??? I do not know how netboot implements the uncompressor, but when writing the code for etherboot, I noticed that accesses to the ROM are extremely slow. That is why the compressed code is first copied to RAM before uncompression starts. You should try to enable caching for the ROM area and check if that makes a difference.
