Hi there, So far i've found following RFC's that are relevant to bootp and tftp: bootp: RFC951, RFC1533, RFC1084, RFC1532, RFC1534, RFC1542 tftp: RFC1350, RFC1782, RFC1783, RFC1784, RFC1785 As for Netboot, i believe it implements RFC951 and RFC1533 for bootp and RFC1350 for tftp. Since Netboot doesn't implement RFC1782 and RFC1783 which are tftp extensions, it won't do any packet size >512? As for Etherboot, i believe it supports RFC1782 and RFC1783 since the distribution of 3.2 includes enhanced tftpd and tftp client to take advantage of this extension. PS. When does the tftp actually do the packet size negotiation with tftpd and how does it know what the maximum packet size allowed by tftpd? Are all these information embedded in bootptab file that gets sent during bootp replies? Regards, -hammer
