The v2.0 patches aren't maintained anymore, I think. magic> Has anybody already test it sharing the dev-dir ? Or must I Yes, no problem. Using /dev/* you're talking to drivers in the running kernel, not to those on the NFS-server. There seems to be a problem with named pipes though. I have: prw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Mar 29 12:09 /dev/gpmdata| -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Mar 29 1997 /dev/gpmdata#host=CREATE# prw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Mar 30 1997 /dev/gpmdata#host=keks#| prw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Aug 12 1996 /dev/gpmdata#host=leia#| prw-r--r-- 1 root root 0 Mar 29 12:09 /dev/gpmdata#host=vader#| for the X11 mouse-repeater pseudo device. (Using named pipes for IPC between different hosts doesn't work either, btw.) magic> create an unique dev-dir for every host (via transname) ? Nah.. magic> What is happening when two hosts lock the /dev/console ? Works fine.
