I got a problem with the bootpd. It starts fine, reads /etc/bootptab and waits. Then, when the Client starts up it recognizes its broadcast and attemts to answer it. During that it tries to put his mac -adress in the arp-table of the server machine. there it exits and says that the SIOCSARP-function would not work. I also tried to recompile bootpd and checked the function which does that ioctl-call. I am not sure weather or not it might be do to the newer implementation of SIOCSARP against 1.x.x Kernels. I tried different Kernels (2.0.30 and .33). Is this a common phenomenon?
