For some time i have had a small problem with the bootp service on my server. i just discovered an error in the messages file about 'no room for dn tag' or something like that. The bootptab looks like this (one entry), it's used to suply ipadresses to my win95/diskless linux machine, and a old 286 serving as a 'dumb' terminal (this one is for the terminal) : ------- .nomenu:\ :ds=192.168.0.1:\ :dn=thor.org:\ :sm=255.255.255.0:\ :gw=192.168.0.1:\ :ht=ethernet:\ :to=-18000:\ :hd=/tftpboot:\ :vm=auto: term1.thor.org:ha=0080adb38a81:tc=.nomenu:bf=dos-stable: ------- The bootp daemon is the one installed by rh 4.2. If i remember right, i had this working a couple of months ago, but after i made an reinstall (new harddrive) i can't get it to work properly... Also, is it possible to make 'publicly' available ipadresses, whithout having to supply the mac address in the bootptab file???? Thomas Mørch
