Hello, today I've uploaded a new netboot version. You can get it using: http://www.han.de/~gero/netboot/files/netboot-0.9.0e.tar.gz Unfortunately, I didn't have enough time recently to include all the changes I was planning. Anyway, I've fixed a couple of bugs reported to me. Thanks to all who reported bugs! I haven't answered all bug reports yet, as I'm still investigating some problems. However, here are the latest bug fixes in version 0.9.0e: - Heavily updated the documentation. Unless I forgot something (and I very likely forgot something) it's now complete for the final 0.9 release. - Fixed a bug in the floppy loader which prevented a bootrom image to get loaded off a hard disk partition (yes, that hasn't been mentioned in the documentation yet: you can also put a image.flo file onto a hard disk partition in addition to a floppy). - makerom has been changed to use 64kB by default if the minsize/maxsize parameters haven't been set. This should hopefully prevent some of the network driver problems recently mentioned in this mailing list. - Reworked the interrupt handler. However, shared PCI interrupts are still a problem. Therefore, if you can't get your network card to run with netboot make sure that it's not using an interrupt which is shared with some other card. - Corrected some bugs with reading the netboot configuration file. - Corrected mknbi-linux so that it now works with Linux kernel version 2.2.x. However please note that there are still some serious bugs in the kernel which prevent it to work with netboot properly. There are also some other minor bug fixes. Again, thanks a lot for all your bug reports. Please keep them coming in, even though I'm usually not able to answer them immediately. gero. -- There has been opposition to every innovation in the history of man, with the possible exception of the sword. - Benjamin Dana -- Gero Kuhlmann, Hannover 0511/6497525 (Voice) gero@gkminix.han.de =========================================================================== This Mail was sent to netboot mailing list by: Gero Kuhlmann <gero@gkminix.han.de> To get help about this list, send a mail with 'help' as the only string in it's body to majordomo@baghira.han.de.
