cold reboot after tftp action

hi,
i am new here...
...and now my problem:
bootp and tftp works fine, but after loading a self compiled kernelimage the
diskless machine makes a cold reboot

an original kernel from suse5.3 works fine but it is not configured for my
behavior.

any suggestions?
