Hi, I have an Alpha with a DEC422 networkcard. The System rom of the Alpha allready supports booting off network, so there`s no problem with the rom. The Alpha connects the bootpserver and print out the correct IP-number, then downloads the file from the TFTPserver. .. then the alpha crashes. Problem: - Running mkbni on vmlinux(alpha) gives me a "cannot find the magic number". (I currently ignore the "magic number" to get a bootImage for testing tftp.) - What does this mean ? - Does mkbni-linux depend on the X86-architecture ? bye =========================================================================== This Mail was sent to netboot mailing list by: Thomas Huber <judas@rz.fh-augsburg.de> To get help about this list, send a mail with 'help' as the only string in it's body to majordomo@baghira.han.de.
