Re: the root filesystem

If your kernel allready tries to mount the root-system, but then it locks
up somewhere, I can help:

- Use a diskbased linux from the server to generate a client linux.
  Copying the /dev/ is somewhat tricky, but works.

- In /etc you edit fstab to make a nfs-root your /.

- You try a boot and look, what initfile causes the lockup.
  (Sometimes the fsck-part or the netsetup-part.)
  Remove these parts and it should work .
