Hello Rob, >> /tmp is now open worldwide with the the permissions drwxrwxrwT. > >Permissions should be drwxrwxrwt - a upper case T meas, there are no >execute-rights for "rest of the world" > I changed the permissions from /tmp to drwxrwxrwt as You suggested with lower case "t", but still I can not start X11. The error messages remain the same. What seems strange to me is that the the source for /usr is installed on a workstation with a disk and there the X111 system is running well. So it seems that all the errors have to do something with wrong links and/or file permissions but I do not no where to look at. Even the option no_root-squash in the exports file for the /usr-NFS server couldn't help. Do you have any further suggestions?
