Subject: need help with bootptab Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=iso-8859-1 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit X-Mailer: TopMail WWW Interface 1.0 Hi, As a newbe in networking I try to set up an old 486 computer as a diskless x-terminal for my linuxbox. I found the netboot -package and I have succeded in creating a floppy-boot-disk. Now I have problems with the configuration of /etc/bootptab. Can someone give me an example for a simple configuration. I want to boot with a floppy-disk (I have made it with mknbi-linux -d rom -i rom -k zImage -o bootImage ) Is it necessary to define a default gateway and is this the gateway to the internet? I am working with a P133 (as server) and Debian slink 2.0.36-Kernel and an ethernet ne2000 clone. Thank you Stefan Thull PS: I have not found the INSTALL-file of netboot in my netboot-package. Can I get it elsewhere? ___________________________________________________________ TopMail - Jetzt kostenlos anmelden - http://www.topmail.de *** com!online: Jetzt 2 Ausgaben kostenlos testen unter *** ------- http://www.com-online.de/service/index6.html ------ =========================================================================== This Mail was sent to netboot mailing list by: Thull Stefan <stth@topmail.de> To get help about this list, send a mail with 'help' as the only string in it's body to majordomo@baghira.han.de.
