You do need the kernel compiled with the NFS_ROOT option and one or more of the BOOTP kernel options. The kernel will load from the DOS drive, then it will boot and use bootp to find a server. Any network card supported by FreeBSD can be compiled into the kernel and no special boot roms are required. (You still need to have bootp setup right to specify the nfs root and nfs swap mount points, etc.) Dave. -- ============================================================================ |David Gilbert, Velocet Communications. | Two things can only be | |Mail: dgilbert@velocet.net | equal if and only if they | |http://www.velocet.net/~dgilbert | are precisely opposite. | =========================================================GLO================ =========================================================================== This Mail was sent to netboot mailing list by: David Gilbert <dgilbert@velocet.ca> To get help about this list, send a mail with 'help' as the only string in it's body to majordomo@baghira.han.de.
