Speaking of flashing NICs, I just picked up 3 more cards: - A Netgear FA310TX, which unbelievably has NO EPROM SOCKET (and no flash, as far as I can tell), though one can clearly see where the socket was omitted from the card. Sigh. Does anyone know which Etherboot driver works with this card? I can at least test floppy boot. - A 3Com 3C905C, which I want to try the contributed in-machine flashing utility with. (and of course make sure current Etherboot supports it). (hey, do you think 3Com fixed the 8K MII Select bug in this rev??) - An eepro100+ card, which seems to have a flash eprom on it. Has anyone programmed the eepro100? It would be nice to have a similar utility to what is available for the 3Com card. They both are using an AT498V512 flash chip, which only says they probably have the same amount of flash, since I'm sure the programming interfaces are different. The 3Com cards are expensive but very cool, in that one can program them without a PROM burner. I suspect the eepro100+ is similar. Until the PXE/Nilo/Multiboot/GRUB stuff gets sorted out, it would be neat (IMHO) to be able to use Etherboot code in these cards. Who's with me? :-) Marty --- Name: Martin D.
