We (Lanworks / 3Com) write the RFC (2090) for TFTP Multicast Option. It does not seem to have been adopted too widely, by our observations. Consensus seems to follow the MTFTP as defined in the PXE spec, although we have noted some vendors writing proprietary multicast TFTP servers. What's the consensus on multicast-tftp? I just read the RFC and it looks simple. I even think it'll fit in the etherboot bootrom easily. I also took a very quick look at the MTFTP defined in the PXE spec. It seemed overly complicated for a bootrom (and it's proprietary by their own admission). Personally, I'd rather code to RFCs.... Any thoughts? ideas? thanks, -Matt =========================================================================== This Mail was sent to netboot mailing list by: "Matt Hortman" <mbhortman@ieee.org> To get help about this list, send a mail with 'help' as the only string in it's body to majordomo@baghira.han.de.
