Boot from floppy if present , else boot from rom

I managed to netboot a 3C509 into DOS using the netboot package
However I need an extra bootrom compile option that adds the following
function to the boot rom:

if (floppy_present)
     boot from floppy
else
     boot from ROM


btw: Bootware trimode ROMs can be configured like this
