hi, i have been trying to boot a diskless machine and have gotten to the point where the kernel image is transferred via tftp. i have hp 4100dx machine that already has options in bios for booting from network. since i bought this computer second hand i don't have any documentation on the bootrom. in the bios i selected 'boot from network' and 'bootp' after the tftp transfer: - when i use a mknbi-linux image nothing happens except minor screen corruption - when i use a normal kernel image 'loading...........' appears, then 'uncompressing linux..' and then it says the compression format is wrong. I don't know what i am doing wrong but if somebody knows or knows more on hp 4100dx machines, any help would be greatly appreciated. regards, martijn sipkema =========================================================================== This Mail was sent to netboot mailing list by: martijn sipkema <m.j.w.sipkema@student.tudelft.nl> To get help about this list, send a mail with 'help' as the only string in it's body to majordomo@baghira.han.de.
