etherboot tulip driver

I have problems getting the tulip driver 
to work with my linksys lne100tx card.

The card works on my 100MHz Pentium diskless client.
On my new Athlon 500 box, however, 
all I get is "TX Timeout" messages.

I increased the timeout constant by a factor of ten
but thay did not help much.

Has anybody a fix for this?
