i have booted an rtl8139 with the ltsp kernel using etherboot 4.4.4 by writing the bootcode to floppy >cat floppyload.bin.pre 3c509.lzrom > /dev/fd0 (rtl8139 in my case.) I found the messages usful.I can give you step by step help with ltsp though the documentation at ltsp.org is pretty good. kernel messages were also useful. I feel it would be a good idea to use a floppy drive with etherboot and test your kernel and the ethrboot network driver.. > I would rather not flash away the content of the 3c905c eeprom to > replace it with etherboot (which I know someone has successfully > done), because I'm not at all confident with all the necessary steps > and I fear I could irreparably damage the card. > > Thanks for your time. > > Pf > > -- > > -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----- > Pierfrancesco Caci | ik5pvx | mailto:p.caci@tin.it - http://gusp.infogroup.it > Firenze - Italia | Office for the Complication of Otherwise Simple Affairs > Linux penny 2.4.0-test1 #1 Thu Jun 22 11:46:01 CEST 2000 i686 unknown > =========================================================================== > This Mail was sent to netboot mailing list by: > Pierfrancesco Caci <ik5pvx@penny.ik5pvx.ampr.org> > To get help about this list, send a mail with 'help' as the only string in > it's body to majordomo@baghira.han.de.
