ram disk error

Hello, I was wondering if you could help with a
problem i am having.I am currently attempting to install red aht linux 6.0
on a 486/66mhz. I get to the installation but at the hardware detection
phase of the installation the system freezes. It detects a majority of my
hardware but the last message reads:

RAMDISK compressed image file found at block[0]

I beleive the error is in the RAM but it is onboard. Is there anything I can
do to get LINUX up and running?
