Or am I missing something? Definitely try a current version of Etherboot (now located at http://etherboot.sourceforge.net There have been a lot of updates. The current released version is 4.6.10. I seem to recall fixes to root-path. Check the notes in the doc/main/LOG file of the Etherboot tarball for details: + Klaus Espenlaub fixed the root path handling in main.c, it wasn't requesting option 17 in DHCP. Also removed one prototype warning in tftp(). I think the comment was added around 4.6.1 or so. Also, you may want to subscribe to etherboot-users@lists.sourceforge.net.
