Created that directory just for the sake of mounting NFS.

Grub is not there on the Red Hat 6.2 deluxe pack. I do not have internet access here. You know this is the way at most of the workplaces in India, narrow mindedness of the boss. :-)

I also would have loved to try out GRUB. alas............
Anything else I could possibly try for the error -13.
In the documentation they have specified that error -13 means unable to access the directory.
This means that /tftpboot is not accessible while mounting the root over NFS !!!!!

Which linux distribution are you using at home. I am using SuSE at home. Most of my usage of computer at home is on Linux. You are situated in which country. Curiosity.
