I know the Linux rtl8129 driver (which handles all cards up to RTL8139B, but the fix for RTL8139C would be trivial) and the 8139too driver, which handles all cards. So which one are you using under Linux? The chips are nearly identical, so I don't think Etherboot should have separate drivers for them. And to put things straight - Etherboot doesn't use Linux drivers. And the fact that there are several drivers for chip variants usually indicates that the old author didn't bother updating the driver for too long and someone else is taking over. The Etherboot RTL8139 driver is derived from the Linux driver, which doesn't necessarily mean that the bugs are the same. It only shares _some_ code and the basic style, nothing else. As I said - the Etherboot RTL8139 driver should handle all chip variants. If not, send me a bug report (preferably including the messages printed by Etherboot). Have you tried a recent 4.6.x version? =========================================================================== This Mail was sent to netboot mailing list by: Klaus Espenlaub <espenlaub@informatik.uni-ulm.de> To get help about this list, send a mail with 'help' as the only string in it's body to majordomo@baghira.han.de.
