This "only" means that Linux cannot get the card to work properly. Did you prepare a Linux kernel with the MySem driver or are you still using the standard RTL8139 driver? If you use the standard driver, then it cannot work, because the vendor ID of the card is not what Don Becker's driver expects. Although there is a Realtek logo on the chip, treat those cards like a proprietary design which requires the matching drivers. Oh, and while you wait for the kernel to recompile - I just realized that you seem to work in the same company - send a polite thanks-a-lot mail to your engineering department. Those companies tend to ignore Europeans, but maybe they listen to their own employees. I know of at least 10 far east companies selling RTL8139 based cards, but not a single one changed the vendor ID and therefore can use the Realtek drivers. Because root NFS is a big hack, don't expect any sensible error messages like you'd get from a Linux system once it's properly running - no "no route to host" etc. Klaus =========================================================================== This Mail was sent to netboot mailing list by: Klaus Espenlaub <espenlaub@informatik.uni-ulm.de> To get help about this list, send a mail with 'help' as the only string in it's body to majordomo@baghira.han.de.
