The size limit is 1MB. It's an arbitrary limit, and it can be found in the file mknbi-linux/mknbi.h. The relevant defines are SYSLSIZE and SYSMSIZE. Increase these two sizes and recompile. Then it should work. Actually, I don't know why I've implemented this size limit. I can't see any reason anymore, since the kernel gets always loaded into high memory.
