Dear Mohd, To my greatest disappointment in last 5 years of experience with Linux I failed to recover the above problem. I compiled all the possible combinations of kernels and only the number "xxxK freed" changed everytime..which is equal to the memory reserved for "init". I was then forced to scrap one machine and other I installed with a 1 GB disk !
