Hello! I asked a couple of days ago how to put the etherboot or netboot boot code on a hard disk. I didn't get any answer, but I realised that the program masq will solve my problem. But I can't get it work! With etherboot-4.0 I did "make 3c509.com" then I changed DOS_COM and LINUXSRC in ~/etherboot-4.0/contrib/obsolete/masq/Makefile. DOS_COM = ../../../src-32/3c509.com LINUXSRC = /home/erik/linux, and this is a 1.2.13 kernel which will work according masq documentation. when I run make I get error: Non-GCC header of 'system' make: *** [netImage] Error 1 And the problem seems to be with the line: /home/erik/linux/arch/i386/boot/tools/build /home/erik/linux/arch/i386/boot/bootsect netsetup netkernel > netImage I use GCC 2.7.2.3 The only way to netboot this strange machine right now is to create a minimal dos-partition, and run 3c509.com from autoexec.bat! I would prefer that my linux-machines did't write "starting MS-DOS" when they boot :-) Thanks in advance /Erik S ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Erik Starbäck, System administrator E-mail address: erik@math.uu.se Uppsala University Telephone (o): +46 18 4713277 Department of Mathematics Cellular phone: +46 70 4250260 P.
