No, since (in my case, anyway) the diskless client's eth0 was pre-configured, *re*configuring it is just the wrong thing to do. If a redhat-knowledgeable person looking at the setup can't figure out how a diskless machine has an IP address, then I suggest that that redhat-knowledgeable person needs to learn about more than just redhat. I suppose you *could* change the ONBOOT to "no", but by erasing the file, you assure that the initialization stuff won't even *try* to fool with the network config. Besides, erasing it was faster. :) (If I had to do it again, I'd make the changes and rename it.)
