Have you experimented with other types of tftpd? There is an implemetation that works fine for us on the netboot homepage: http://harlie.han.de/~gero/netboot/files/tftpd.tar.gz But it has a problem with termination. When the transfer is interupted the demon doesnt exit, so you have to kill it manually after a while or you will have a lot of them running and jamming filetables and memory. Or use the intel tftpd. Its a standalone tftpd (not invoked by inetd but started from the prompt).
