SMC now has 2 cards that are labelled as SMC1211TX. One of them is called the 'EZ Card 10/100' and the other is called the 'EZNET 10/100'. We've been using the older EZ Card for quite a while now, with Etherboot. It's basically a Realtek 8139 chipset. It has a 28-pin socket, and I've been using the 27c128 eproms. The newer EZNET card also has the same chipset, but it has a 32-pin eprom socket. When I pop the card into a Linux box, I see that it is using the same PCI Vendor and Product ID's as the older card. If you go to the SMC website, and find the newer 'EZNET 10/100' card, and drill down to the data sheet, it brings up the datasheet for the older card, so that isn't much help. I would like to try the same Etherboot driver with it, but I don't know what type of eprom to buy for it. It needs to have 32-pins. Any suggestions?
