Due to the timestamp on first.linux being a little older than the source files caused by checking out of CVS at Sourceforge, you may find that the Makefile tries to make first.linux from source. If you have nasm, that's not a problem, but if you don't or you don't want to invoke nasm, all you have to do is "touch first.linux" so that you can use the supplied binary.
