NFS Root setup

I'm trying to set up my first diskless workstation
and can't figure out how to add NFS root support
to the kernel.  Each HOW-TO that I read refers to
enabling NFS support, and additionally, NFS ROOT
support, as part of the "make *config" process.
I've gone through every option using "make config"
and "make menuconfig", but the only related options
that I see are the following:

NFS filesystem support (CONFIG_NFS_FS)
NFS server support (CONFIG_NFSD)

I'm using Mandrake 7.2 and kernel verion 2.2.17
